As we get ready to go home for Thanksgiving, we are getting a special little gift.  At Halloween I bought a rare new breed, a YELLOW pumpkin.  My friend at the market said it was a first of its kind in our area.  So we named him Pumpkin Jack of course.  We cut the top off, pulled out seeds to dry out, and kept him until he started to look pretty sad.  We took him to a special hiding place in the butterfly garden to spend the winter.  The children ask EVERY SINGLE DAY if we can go see him.
We plan to go today.  I'm not sure what to expect!!! But, we wrote a poem to help us remember him, and we are taking home seeds for early spring.  We hope to see some new yellow pumpkins in our garden next year.  Stay tuned!
